It’s no secret that billionaire Warren Buffett believes he should be paying more taxes.
In Sunday’s New York Times, he underscored his point, urging Congress to increase the rate for taxpayers making more than $1 million and to create a higher tax bracket for those making more than $10 million.
Buffett, who paid 17.4 percent of his taxable income last year, wrote that Washington seems to protect the affluent as if “we were spotted owls or some other endangered species.”
“My friends and I have been coddled long enough by a billionaire-friendly Congress,” he said. “It’s time for our government to get serious about shared sacrifice.”
